Uniform Kids
Strong Minds

Every uniform kid carries a piece of the job. The long shifts. The deployments. The quiet worry. Strong Minds gives them the tools, the friendships, and the support to carry it with courage.

Support A Uniform Kid

Kids Serve Too

Children of firefighters, law enforcement officers, paramedics, military service members, and medical frontline workers grow up differently. Their parent leaves for 24 and 48 hour shifts. Deployments stretch for months. Holidays get missed. And every uniform kid learns, earlier than any child should, that their hero's job carries real danger.

The weight is real. Anxiety, sleep disruption, and emotional distress show up at higher rates in first responder and military households. Yet no national program addresses uniform kids as their own population. Uniform Kids Strong Minds was built to change that.

How Strong Minds Works

Four connected components meet uniform kids where they are, from a journal on the nightstand to a licensed therapist when a family needs one.

Ages 5 to 17

Resilience Kits

Age tiered kits with a guided feelings journal, a shift calendar the child manages themselves, parent and child conversation cards, and a comfort item connected to their parent's service branch. Free to uniform families.

Peer Support

Uniform Kids Peer Circles

Small group meetups, virtual and in person, grouped by age and service branch and led by trained volunteers using a trauma informed curriculum. Because the kid who gets it best is another uniform kid.

For Parents

Parent Workshop Series

A workshop and video series helping uniform parents have honest, age appropriate conversations about danger, absence, injury, and grief, developed with licensed child therapists and chaplaincy partners.

Professional Care

Therapy Referral Network

A vetted directory of licensed therapists who understand first responder and military family life, plus micro grants that cover initial session costs when finances stand in the way.
